Lynn Swimming Garners CSCAA Scholar All-America Status

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Lynn University’s men’s and women’s swimming teams were both honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America teams for the Fall 2019 semester, as announced on Wednesday.  

The men’s program notched their first-ever CSCAA Scholar All-America recognition while the women’s program gained this recognition for the 13th straight semester. On the women’s side, Lynn posted a 3.34 cumulative grade point average (GPA) while Lynn’s men posted a 3.19 GPA.

A record 762 programs from 480 institutions were named to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2019 semester. Teams were selected based on their Fall 2019 grade point averages and represent 17,685 student-athletes. 

To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.  Lynn’s women’s program has received Scholar All-America Team recognition every semester since the Fall of 2013. The men join Lees-McRae and Oklahoma Christian as one of three Division II schools earning this accolade for the first time.

Both teams will compete next at the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championships from Feb. 13-16 in Clearwater, Fla.
