Detroit is preparing for a contest that most pundits seem to be writing the Lions off, due to the loss of Hutchinson for the season. But, in the words of Lee Corso. I say, “Au contraire mon freur!” The Lions are not devoid of pressure creators in the front seven on Defense other than Aidan Hutchinson.
We still have two of the best interior defensive lineman in the league with; Alim McNeil (2.5 sacks) and DJ Reader (1.5 sacks). Levi Onwuzurike will more than likely be opposite Josh Paschal at the defensive end position.
Keys to the game:
Offensively:
The Vikings have not faced this prolific a running attack like Jahmyr ‘Sonic’ Gibbs and David (Knuckles) Montgomery. If they get going, it will be long day for the Vikings defense by Detroit dominating the time of possession.
Defensively:
We should feel hopeful because the Lions continued to pressure the Cowboys the rest of the game after Aidan Hutchinson left the game by ambulance. Only allowing a FG for scoring. If AG can continue that type of pressure without Aidan Hutchinson. Sam Darnold will look more like he did versus the Jets than he looked versus the 49ers. Stop their running game first and foremost.
If everything goes right:
Lions 27
Vikings 24
If it all goes awry:
Lions 24
Vikings 27
