BIRMINGHAM – UAB head men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy has announced the addition of Jordan Walker to the roster.
“Jordan is a dynamic, creative lead guard who makes plays with the ball,” said Kennedy. “His playmaking ability allows him to constantly apply pressure to the defense and at just under two steals per game last season for Tulane, he is very disruptive defensively. Jordan’s impact will be felt immediately.”
A 5-11 guard from Port Washington, N.Y. Walker started his collegiate career at Seton Hall in 2017 before transferring to Tulane in 2018. After redshirting the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules, he played two seasons for the Green Wave. Walker started all 23 of Tulane’s games averaging 13 points per game, 4.3 assists per game and 1.7 steals per game, while shooting nearly 40% from the field this past year.
Walker tied a career-best with 24 points to go along with seven assists and three steals in Tulane’s AAC Championship First Round win over seventh-seeded Tulsa last season. He recorded his first career double-double of 18 points and a career-high 10 assists at UCF. Walker finished 2020-21 with 16 double-figure scoring games.
Walker joins Jamal Johnson, KJ Buffen, Tyreke Locure, Justin Brown, Elijah Tate and AD Diedhiou as the newcomers on the roster.
