Kayla DiCello Wins Pan American Games Floor Exercise Silver

Gator gymnast Kayla DiCello closed her Pan American Games with another medal – this time floor exercise silver.

DiCello, the 2023 Pan American Games all-around champion, shared the floor exercise silver with Brazil’s Flavia Saraiva at 13.733. U.S. teammate Kaliya Lincoln won the floor exercise gold (14.233).

It was DiCello’s second individual event final Wednesday. She just missed a podium spot by finishing fourth on balance beam (13.80). Brazil took the top two beam spots – Rebeca Andrade (14.166) and Saraiva (14.033) – while Canada’s Ava Stewart took bronze (13.90).

It’s been quite a month for DiCello. She received team gold at the FIG World Championships in Belgium on Oct. 4. She added three more medals this week in Santiago, Chile – team and all-around gold and floor exercise silver.

DiCello is the first U.S. Pan Am Games all-around gold medalist since Bridgette Caquatto (Gator All-American; competing 2013-16) won in 2011.  U.S. Gymnastics Pan American Games results<https://usagym.org/history/mw-pan-am-games-results/>
