Joe Burrow, Pat Surtain II & Jason Sanders Named November AFC Players of the Month

NEW YORK — Dec. 5, 2024 — Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II and Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders are the AFC Players of the Month for games played in the month of November.

OFFENSE: QB JOE BURROW, CINCINNATI BENGALS

  • Burrow completed 89 of 145 pass attempts (61.4 percent) for 1,035 yards and 12 touchdowns with one interception for a 107.7 passer rating and added 45 rushing yards in three games during November. He led the NFL in passing yards per game (345) and tied for the most touchdown passes (12).
  • This is Burrow’s first-career Player of the Month award. He is the second Bengals player to win Offensive Player of the Month in the past 10 seasons (2015-24), joining Andy Dalton (October, 2015).
  • Burrow becomes the second former LSU Tiger to win Offensive Player of the Month, joining Justin Jefferson (November, 2021 & November, 2022).

DEFENSE: CB PAT SURTAIN II, DENVER BRONCOS

  • Surtain II was targeted 17 times on 140 coverage snaps (12.1-percent) per Next Gen Stats and allowed nine receptions for 55 yards in four games during November. The longest reception he allowed was nine yards and did not allow a touchdown as the nearest defender in coverage during the month. He also recorded 12 tackles and two passes defensed.
  • This is Surtain II’s first-career Player of the Month award. He is the fourth Broncos defensive back to win Defensive Player of the Month, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Champ Bailey (November, 2005 & October, 2006), Deltha O’Neal (October, 2001) and Dennis Smith (October, 1989).
  • Surtain II is the fifth former Alabama defensive back to win Defensive Player of the Month, joining Landon Collins (November, 2016), Trevon Diggs (September, 2021), Eddie Jackson (November, 2018) and Xavier McKinney (October, 2024).

SPECIAL TEAMS: K JASON SANDERS, MIAMI DOLPHINS

  • Sanders led the NFL with 43 points and was the only kicker in the NFL to make 100-percent of his kicks with at least 10 field-goal attempts (10) and 10 point-after attempts (13) in November. His 10 made field goals included three from 50-or-more yards.
  • This marks the fourth-career Player of the Month award for Sanders, surpassing Jason Taylor (three-time winner) for the most Player of the Month awards by a Dolphins player.
