JAGUARS, CBS 47 AND FOX30 TO AIR FOUR CLASSIC GAMES

Classic Jaguars games to air on WFOX/WJAX prior to the 2020 NFL Season

In partnership with the CBS47 and FOX30, the Official Stations of the Jacksonville Jaguars, fans can tune into four classic Jaguars games in preparation for kickoff of the 2020 NFL season. The iconic victories will be showcased locally on WJAX/WFOX and streamed worldwide on Jaguars.com to give fans an opportunity to relive some of the most memorable moments in franchise history.

All four games are playoff victories and feature legendary performances and plays by Jaguar greats such as QB Mark Brunell, DE Tony Brackens, RB Maurice Jones-Drew, CB Rashean Mathis, WR Keenan McCardell, WR Jimmy Smith and RB Fred Taylor.

The fun begins on Friday, August 21 on WJAX at 8 p.m. with the re-airing of the Jaguars dramatic 45-42 win at Pittsburgh on Jan. 14, 2018. The Jaguars stormed out to a 21-0 lead and held off the Steelers’ late comeback to advance to the AFC Championship. Fans will be reminded of RB Leonard Fournette’s game-high three TDs as well as the legendary 14-yard TD reception by FB Tommy Bohanon to clinch the victory.

Next up will be the Jaguars 62-7 playoff victory against the Miami Dolphins on Jan. 15, 2000, which will air on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. on WFOX. The 62 points scored were the Jaguars most ever, while Taylor’s 90-yard rush for a TD stands as the longest postseason play in franchise history.

The re-airing of the Jaguars 30-27 upset victory over the Broncos in the AFC Divisional round will be shown on Aug. 30 at 4 p.m. on WFOX. After falling behind 12-0, the Jaguars scored on their next six possessions, including TD passes from QB Mark Brunell to WR Keenan McCardell and WR Jimmy Smith, to help the Jaguars shock the world and punch a ticket to their first AFC Championship appearance.

The Classic Jaguars series will conclude on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. on WFOX with their thrilling 31-29 Wild Card victory against the Steelers on Jan. 5, 2008. After relinquishing an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter, the Jaguars regained the lead behind a K Josh Scobee game-winning field goal with 37 seconds left to defeat the Steelers for the second time in Pittsburgh that season.
