MIAMI (March 4, 2024) – Inter Miami CF announced today that it has traded defender DeAndre Yedlin to FC Cincinnati, gaining important roster flexibility, in addition to acquiring $172,799 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM).
“DeAndre has been a leader for us on and off the field, and we’re very thankful for everything he has done for Inter Miami. I’ve known him since his academy days in Seattle, and have been proud to see his success here, including helping the team lift its first trophy,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “This trade gives us the flexibility to continue building our roster. Our ambitions remain high and we will look to use the space created by this move to improve our squad as we aim to compete for titles.”
Yedlin, 30, signed for Inter Miami ahead of the 2022 MLS season and went on to make 82 appearances across all competitions for the team, tied for the most in Club history. The defender tallied nine assists in his 65 MLS matches for the team and wore the captain’s armband through much of his tenure with Inter Miami.
Notably, Yedlin helped guide Inter Miami to the first official title in First Team history in 2023, starting all seven matches and registering two assists en route to lifting the inaugural Leagues Cup trophy.
Inter Miami would like to thank Yedlin for his contributions, and wishes him well in his future.
