The show will highlight unique Gators content, including a recap of the shortened 2019-20 season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Inside Gator Nation presented by UF Health, the Official Healthcare Provider of the Florida Gators, debuts Wednesday, May 13 at 5:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Florida.
Hosted by former Gators pitcher Jeff Cardozo, and featuring University of Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin and FloridaGators.com writers Scott Carter and Chris Harry, the one-hour TV special will highlight unique Gators sports content, including a recap of the best moments of the shortened 2019-20 season.
Inside Gator Nation will also feature special guests, including Gator alumni Matt LaPorta, Billy Horschel, Laura Rutledge and Andy Staples.

Andy Staples
Andy Staples covers college football for The Athletic and is the host of the Andy Staples Show on SiriusXM. A graduate of the College of Journalism and Communications at UF, Staples spent 11 years covering college football for Sports Illustrated. Staples, who also played football with the Gators, will speak about his time at Florida, the football program and his experiences covering the SEC.
Matt LaPorta
A four-time All-American, Matt LaPorta played baseball at the University of Florida from 2004-07 before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers with the seventh pick of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. In 2009, LaPorta made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Indians, where he played until 2012. LaPorta will join the show to discuss Florida Baseball, the new Florida Ballpark and the success of the program under Head Coach Kevin O’Sullivan.
Billy Horschel
Billy Horschel attended UF from 2006-09, where he played golf for coach Buddy Alexander. The four-time All-American, who currently plays on the PGA Tour, was tabbed as the SEC Player of the Year in 2007 and 2009 and was named to the first-team All-SEC four times with the Gators. Horschel will join the show to talk about his years as a Gators golfer and winning the FedEx Cup in 2014.
Laura Rutledge
A graduate of the College of Journalism and Communications at UF, Laura Rutledge serves as a reporter and broadcaster for SEC Network and ESPN. Rutledge is the host of SEC Nation and a permanent contributor to Get Up!. Rutledge will touch on the overall success of Gator athletics and her experiences in the SEC and as a UF student.
