Gators Set All-Time Semester GPA High in Spring 2023

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida student-athletes continued the trend of academic excellence and shined during the 2023 spring semester.

Setting an all-time semester GPA high for Florida student-athletes, the Gators earned an overall grade point average of 3.33.

Success in the classroom by UF student-athletes was on display last week in the Academic Progress Rate (APR)<https://floridagators.com/news/2023/5/2/general-strong-apr-scores-again-for-florida.aspx>, as the NCAA announced May 2 that 13 Florida teams exceeded or equaled its sport’s national average.

In the fall, the Graduation Success Rates (GSR)<https://floridagators.com/news/2022/11/15/general-gators-athletics-ranks-high-in-recent-graduation-success-rates.aspx> published on Nov. 15 showed UF set an all-time high with 94 percent of its Gators student-athlete completing their degrees.

Additionally, 284 student-athletes across all 21 sports accumulated 3,158 community service hours from 178 opportunities for 53 organizations in the Gainesville community.

More highlights from the Gators’ spring semester in the academic arena:

  *   17 programs earned above a 3.0
  *   The overall student-athlete GPA was above 3.05 for 10th consecutive semester
  *   A record 77 percent of UF student-athletes earned a 3.0 or better GPA this spring
  *   Overall cumulative GPA of student-athletes was a 3.28
  *   So far this academic year, 185 Gators appear on Southeastern Conference Fall or Winter Academic Honor Rolls. The Spring and First-Year Academic Honor Rolls are still to be announced.

  *   Nine student-athletes completed their master’s or doctorate degrees this semester
