Florida student-athletes shine amid challenging spring semester, post 3.40 GPA.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Amid the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19, University of Florida student-athletes enjoyed a tremendous spring semester in the classroom, with 18 of the athletic department’s programs earning a 3.0 GPA or higher during the term. Gator student-athletes compiled an average GPA of 3.40 as the women’s swimming and diving team led the way at 3.80.

Florida’s student-athletes finished the semester strong as a total of 419 Gators recorded a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
Ten teams recorded a semester GPA north of 3.5, with the men’s tennis setting the pace for all male programs, checking in with a 3.77 GPA. In addition, the gymnastics and women’s golf programs finished above a 3.7 with GPAs of 3.72 and 3.71, respectively.
Earlier this month, 55 graduates were celebrated during spring commencement.
For the 2019-20 academic year, 16 of the Gator programs finished with at least a 3.0 GPA. Women’s golf recorded the highest overall GPA in 2019-20, finishing with a 3.62. Men’s tennis achieved the top annual GPA of all male programs at 3.41.
A total of 86 student-athletes graduated this year and 142 Gators garnered SEC Honor Roll recognition.
