The Gators very own Alexis Stucky and Alec Rothe pick up their first 2024 SEC Weekly accolades.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following a perfect 3-0 performance from the No. 15 Florida volleyball team, Alexis Stucky was named the SEC Player of the Week and SEC Setter of the Week, while Alec Rothe earned SEC Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday. It marks the first Conference honor for both Gators this season.
After suffering a year-long ACL injury, Stucky made her return in the Orange and Blue in Florida’s 3-0 win over North Texas on Sept. 20. The redshirt sophomore captained Florida to a third-set .393 attacking clip after dishing out 14 assists, while finishing with one kill and one dig in her one-set appearance. She made her first start of the 2024 season on Sunday, Sept. 22, leading Florida to a .442 hitting percentage behind her 32 assists in the Gators sweep over Buffalo. Additionally, the Laramie, Wy native recorded eight digs, three kills, two blocks and one ace in the three setter.
It marks Stucky’s third SEC Overall Player of the Week and SEC Setter of the Week award of her career. She now has tallied 12 SEC Weekly honors in her Gator career.
Starting in all three matches as Florida’s middle blocker, Rothe totaled 11.0 total blocks, while averaging a .559 hitting percentage to only record one error in 34 total attempts (20-1-34). The Dublin, Ohio native registered 10 kills and hit .600 (10-1-15) in Florida’s win over No. 18 Florida State, while posting three blocks, one assist and one dig in the five setter. She finished with a team-high five blocks and hit .462 (6-0-13), in Florida’s sweep against North Texas while having one assist and one dig.

Florida kicks off SEC play with two matches this week, traveling to Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday, Sept. 26 to face the unranked Sooners before returning home to the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on Sunday, Sept. 29 for a top-15 matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.
