TONIGHT’S CITY FURNITURE MILITARY HERO: Rob Keeler

Tonight’s Hero Among Us is retired US Army veteran, Captain Rob Keeler. His commissioned assignments include the 25th Signal Battalion at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan where he served as a Cable Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer. Captain Keeler’s awards and decorations includes the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, and Army Commendation Medal with “V” device.

    Florida earned the first playoff berth. Florida will play in the postseason for a third consecutive season, also a franchise first, and for the eighth time since
    their inaugural season.
    RECORD BREAKERS
    Florida’s win at BUF marked their 48th win of the season (48-15-6), surpassing their prior club record of 47 from 2015-16. They are two points shy of
    besting their previous single-season points mark of 103 from that season. The Panthers lead all clubs with a franchise-record 284 goals scored, the only
    team this season averaging over 4 goals per game (4.12). The Cats also lead the league in shots on goal per game (37.3).

    HOME COOKING
    The Panthers have earned a win in each of their past five games at FLA Live Arena. The have scored a league-leading 159 goals at FLA Live Arena, the
    most single-season home goals in franchise history, and earned a club-record 28 wins on home ice. They have also won a franchise-record 28
    home games, tied for the league lead. Jonathan Huberdeau leads all NHL skaters with 45 assists and 57 points (12-45-57) on home ice this season.
    COMEBACK CATS
    The Panthers earned their 23rd comeback win of the season April 3 at BUF, the 2nd-most among NHL teams. April 2 at NJD, the Cats scored five
    unanswered goals to overcome a four-goal third-period deficit to win in OT. The win marked the 2nd time in club history FLA has won after trailing by 4
    goals in the 3rd period (Nov. 19, 2019 at BOS), and the 10th time in NHL history a road team has accomplished the feat. FLA has four comeback
    victories when trailing by 3 or more goals in 2021-22, tied for the most in one season in league history.
    THE BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE
    Florida defensemen have accounted for six goals and 11 points over their past two games. Panthers blueliners have recorded 184 points (43-141-184)
    in 2021-22, the second-most among NHL teams. Three different FLA d-men have logged at least 30 points, tied for the league lead.
    CATS AND LEAFS
    Tonight, the Panthers and Maple Leafs face off at FLA Live Arena for the first time since Feb. 27, 2020. The Cats have won six of their past seven (6-1-
    0) home games against Toronto, outscoring the Maple Leafs 29-18 at home since March 14, 2017.

    Jonathan Huberdeau tallied his 24th goal of the season April 3 at BUF for his 97th point (24-73-97) of the campaign, surpassing Aleksander Barkov’s
    franchise single-season points record of 96 from 2018-19. Huberdeau has produced at least a point in each of his last eight games (5-8-13), marking his
    third point streak of at least eight games this season. His 73 assists lead all NHL skaters and are the most by a LW in NHL history. He logged 3 points
    (2-1-3) March 29 vs. MTL; his first goal was his third shorthanded goal of the season and Florida’s 10th SHG. The Saint-Jerome, Quebec native is tied
    for the team lead with 23 multi-point games and paces FLA with 14 multi-assist outings. He is Florida’s franchise leader in games played (660), assists
    (403) and points (595).
    BARKOV COUNTY
    Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov was named the NHL’s Third Star for the week ending April 3 after posting four straight 2-point performances
    totaling eight points (5-3-8). Barkov leads FLA with 33 goals (33-39-72), two shy of his career high from 2018-19. He has registered a team-high seven
    multi-goal games and 23 multi-point games, tied with Huberdeau for the club lead. His 72 points rank second on the team and he is tied for the club lead
    with 10 PPGs. Barkov’s four shorthanded tallies in 2021-22 are tied for the league lead. His 37 career game-winning goals are the most in franchise
    history.
    G-UNIT
    Claude Giroux has notched seven assists over his first seven games with the Panthers, as well as a 57.0 faceoff win rate (61/107). He notched an
    assist in his home debut with FLA on March 29 vs. MTL. He posted two assists in each of his first two games with FLA, becoming the second player in
    club history to start their tenure with consecutive multi-point performances following Patric Hornqvist (Jan. 17-19, 2021).
    USE THE FORS’
    Gustav Forsling has produced five points (3-2-5) over his past three games, tied for his longest point streak of the season. He recorded his first career
    multi-goal game April 2 at NJD, including his 2nd career OT goal, and posted a career-high six shots on goal. The Linkoping, Sweden native’s 25 assists
    and 30 points (5-25-30) this season are both career highs.
    THE DUKE OF SOUTH FLORIDA
    Anthony Duclair tallied two goals April 3 at BUF, and he has produced three points (2-1-3) over his past two games. His career-high 28 goals this
    season rank second on FLA, while his 52 points (28-24-52) are also a career high. Duclair is one assist away from setting a new career mark. 20 of
    Duclair’s goals have come at even strength, the third-most on FLA.
    BENNY AND THE CATS
    Sam Bennett has produced six points (1-5-6) over his past five games. Currently sitting at 198 career points (99-99-198), Bennett’s 43 points (26-17-
    43) and 26 goals this season are career highs, while his 17 assists are one shy of his career mark from 2015-16. 21 of his goals have come at even
    strength, tied for the most on FLA. He leads Florida with 196 shots on goal in 2021-22, and paces the club with six game-winning goals this season.
    CLEAR EYES, FULL ‘HART
    Sam Reinhart has notched three assists over his past four games. He notched his 200th NHL assist March 29 vs. MTL. He tallied his 10th power-play
    goal of the season March 24 at MTL, tied for the most on FLA. The tally also marked his 25th goal of the campaign, tied for his career high from 2020-21
    and 2017-18. Reinhart ranks third on Florida with 41 assists and 65 points (24-41-65), matching his career high in points from 2018-19.
    AGENT CARTER
    Carter Verhaeghe notched his 100th NHL point April 3 at BUF, an assist on Anthony Duclair’s second tally. He has produced three assists over his
    last four games. Verhaeghe’s 21 goals, 30 assists and 51 points this season are all career highs. All 21 of his goals have come at even strength, tied for
    the most on the Panthers in 2021-22. He ranks tied for second on FLA with 48 even-strength points (21-27-48) this season.
    STONE MASON
    Mason Marchment has registered a point in each of his past four games (1-3-4). He scored his 15th goal of the season March 29 vs. MTL. The
    Uxbridge, Ontario native has produced 40 points (15-25-40) over 44 games in 2021-22.
    LUN DMC
    Anton Lundell scored his 15th goal of the season April 3 at BUF. His 15 tallies are the sixth-most by a rookie in franchise history, while his 39 points
    (15-24-39) are tied with Aaron Ekblad for fourth-most by a Panthers rookie.
    RETURN OF THE MACK
    MacKenzie Weegar logged two points (1-1-2) April 3 at BUF. His goal and assist marked new personal career highs in assists (31) and points (38). The
    Ottawa, Ontario native ranks third among NHL skaters with 68 takeaways.
    YOU’RE ON THE CASE, BOBROVSKY
    Sergei Bobrovsky posted his 3rd shutout of the season March 31 vs. CHI, stopping all 37 shots he faced. He has earned a win in each of his past
    seven decisions. Only Roberto Luongo (9-game win streak from Dec. 15, 2015-Jan. 7, 2016) has had a longer win streak in club history. Bobrovsky (33-
    6-3) is two wins away from matching Luongo’s club record for wins in a season (35 in 2005-06 and 2015-16). With 21 wins (21-3-0) on home ice in 2021-
    22, Bobrovsky is two wins shy of Luongo’s franchise single-season home wins record of 23 from 2005-06. He has won each of his past five starts at FLA
    Live Arena, posting a .936 save percentage and 1.81 goals against average at home since March 3.
    OH WHAT A KNIGHT
    Spencer Knight has earned wins in each of his past two appearances. He stopped all six shots he faced in relief to earn the win April 2 at NJD. The
    Darien, Conn. native registered his first NHL shutout March 18 at ANA, stopping all 17 Ducks shots, becoming the youngest goaltender to record a
    shutout in club history
