The Marlins have invited 38 pitchers to camp – 27 right handers and 11 lefties, including 16 non-roster invitees; 8 catchers have been invited, including six non-roster invitees.
Of the 46 pitchers and catchers invited:
- 24 are attending their first camp with the Marlins: Bass, Bleier, Campbell, Cimber, Curtiss, Detwiler, Floro, Hoyt, Pop, Bender, Eder, Fishman, Guillen, King, Madero, McCambley, Morimando, Meyer, Nicolas, Poteet, Roberson, Thompson, Barstad, Leon.
- 15 were drafted by the Marlins or signed as non-drafted free agents or international free agents: Cabrera, Garrett, Holloway, Rogers, Eder, King, Lee, McCambley, Meyer, Nicolas, Poteet, Roberson, Banfield, Barstad, Fortes
- 13 were born outside the United States and six nationalities are represented (Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela).
- Only 14 ended last year with another organization
