| 8/19/2024 | Football BOCA RATON, Fla. – Sports fans are familiar with sayings like “The best offense is a good defense.” Another is, “Our team is only as good as the scout team.” On Monday, the Florida Atlantic football team began implementing its scout team. The scout team will be charged with not only their personal development but also learning and implementing the upcoming opponent’s offense and defenses in an effort to prepare the team for their next game. That is where sayings such as “We were prepared. They didn’t show us anything that we had not seen before,’ comes from. The Owls also began their first game prep week with a Monday practice, a trend that will be used throughout the 2024 season. HIGHLIGHTS The squad began practice slightly later than its camp practices and was more focused on unit and team sessions than individual work The last portion was two-minute work starting at the minus-32 QB Cam Fancher connected with WRs Dominique Henry and Caleb Coombs to move the chains LB Jackson Ambush nearly hauled in an interception but did come away with a pass breakup S CJ Heard recorded an interception, and the defense tallied multiple sacks in the session WR Marlyn Johnson had a TD reception COMPLETE SCHEDULE Click HERE.
