BOCA RATON – The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Parks District is embracing technology to ensure it gets the community’s work done.

The District’s scheduled meeting for Monday, April 20 at 5:15 p.m. will now be held via video teleconference in accordance with Governor Rick DeSantis’ guidelines regarding local government public meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commissioners will “attend” the meeting via the video conferencing platform Zoom.

The District is offering several options for members of the community wishing to watch or participate. The entire meeting will be viewable live on the District’s YouTube channel. The public is also invited to use phones to call into the conference and listen to the meeting. The call-in option provides audio only.

Instructions on how to call into the conference can be found on the meeting’s agenda page (https://www.mybocaparks.org/sites/default/files/documents/Agendas/Agenda%204-20-20%20Instructions.pdf) located on the District’s website, MyBocaParks.org.

Community members have two avenues for commenting publicly at the meeting. Prior to the meeting, they can email comments [email protected]. Submissions that take shorter than the generally allotted five minutes to read aloud will be orally entered into the record during the meeting. All other submissions will be entered into the record at the meeting’s conclusion without having been read aloud. Email submissions must be received by 5 p.m. the day of the meeting.

Anyone who “attends” the meeting via telephone connection will have the option of making their comments live during the conference. These comments will be made orally, only. Instructions for commenting via telephone can also be found on the meeting’s agenda page located on the District’s website.

Members of the public requiring additional information regarding the District Commission meeting and those who have questions regarding the process for submission of public comments are invited to contact the District at 561-417-4599.
