Tickets available for HBCU and NPHC Night supported by Huntington Bank, College Fair Presented by Verizon
DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons will host Historically Black Colleges and Universities and National Pan Hellenic Council (HBCU/NPHC) Night Friday, Feb. 7 at Little Caesars Arena against the Philadelphia 76ers.
HBCU and NPHC Night, supported by Huntington Bank, will bring “The Yard” to Little Caesars Arena, celebrating and bringing awareness to these impactful communities. The festivities will tipoff with a College Fair presented by Verizon from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. featuring 14 HBCUs and the HBCU Network, allowing participants to gain knowledge on the universities and programming, and give the opportunity for students who have applied to be accepted on-site. As doors open at 5:30 p.m., fans in attendance will engage in various activations tied back to HBCUs and the NPHC experience. Alpha Kappa Alpha member Chiara Clayton and saxophonist Daryl Bebee will perform a pre-anthem rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” as well as the National Anthem, and at halftime, Wayne State University’s Divine 9 will perform a stroll off. Throughout the month of February, the Pistons will inspire and provide opportunities for Detroit youth through arts, education and basketball. The organization aims to bridge divides while demonstrating the importance of equality, diversity, inclusion, respect and teamwork at each of the month’s activities.
