DETROIT LIONS ANALYTICS EXECUTIVE RECOGNIZED IN SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL

DETROIT —Detroit Lions Executive Director of Business Strategy and Analytics Ashton Mullinix has been named to the inaugural class of Sports Business Journal’s “New Voices Under 30” award. The full list of honorees will be included in the Jan. 20, 2020 issue of Sports Business Journal.
Sports Business Journal introduced “New Voices Under 30,” a platform that is recognizing the next generation of leaders in the sports business. “New Voices Under 30” aims to identify young, diverse and impactful leaders, entrepreneurs, risk-takers and disrupters who are reimagining the sports experience and business. These leaders have varied backgrounds, beliefs and points of view, and are considered the change agents shifting traditional sports business. Mullinix was recognized for his work creating the business strategy and analytics team for the Lions.
“I am honored to receive this award and represent the Detroit Lions, Detroit, and the NFL,” said Mullinix. “The Lions have empowered my team to bring new skills and perspectives into the industry to improve the way we think about our business. In his role at the Lions, Mullinix leads a team of business strategy and analytics specialists to improve every aspect of the business including ticketing, marketing, corporate partnerships and operations, through data research.
Born in Ann Arbor, Mich., Mullinix obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration and Sports Management and is currently working on a Master of Business Administration in finance and entrepreneurship from the University of Michigan. He has been with the Lions since September 2015.
