TAMPA, FLA., DEC. 7, 2020 – The USF men’s basketball team closes a quick two-game homestand Tuesday at 5 p.m. when the Bulls welcome in-state foe Stetson to the Yuengling Center for a matchup broadcast live on ESPN+.

USF (2-2) returned to its winning ways on Dec. with a 76-57 victory over Florida Gulf Coast behind 14 points, nine rebounds and two blocks from junior center Michael Durr (Atlanta). Alexis Yetna (Paris) added 13 points and nine rebounds and freshman Caleb Murphy (Youngstown, Ohio) finished with 12 points and three assists.

Durr was selected to The American men’s basketball honor roll on Monday for his performance against Florida Gulf Coast.

THE OPPONENT
Stetson (0-3) will be search of its first win of the season after falling to Florida on Sunday for its third consecutive loss. The Hatters managed just 40 points against the Gators and arrive in Tampa averaging just 53.7 points per game and are losing by an average of 23.7 points.

Guards Chase Johnston and Rob Perry lead the Stetson offense with 13.3 points per game apiece, while sophomore forward Mahamadou Diawara grabs a team-best 8.3 rebounds per game to go along with 8.3 points per game.

• USF is 20-7 and has won 14 straight against Stetson in the all-time series that dates back to the 1971-72 season.

• Justin Brown has made the seventh-most career three-pointers in school history with 160.

About USF Men’s Basketball
The USF men’s basketball team is led by head coach Brian Gregory. On March 22, 2017, Gregory was introduced as the 10th head coach in program history. He previously led programs at Georgia Tech (2011-16) and Dayton (2003-11). Gregory spent nearly a decade as an assistant coach under Michigan State’s Hall of Fame head coach Tom Izzo and helped the Spartans win the 2000 NCAA National Championship.
