MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the second time this season, Lynn volleyball has won Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week. For the first time this season the same player, Biatriz Souza Berti, has won both of the awards.
The senior from Brazil has thrived in her expanded role in the Fighting Knights offense. Since taking over as the primary setter, Souza Berti has posted at least 30 assists in 10-straight matches.
She had 88 assists in just seven sets this past week including 43 in a sweep of Barry. It was the Fighting Knights first win at BU since 2014, which gave them their first sweep of the Bucs since that same season.
Souza Berti will look to extend Lynn’s winning streak to eight straight against Nova Southeastern on Tuesday.
