VALDOSTA, GA. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team was defeated 17-8 by the Valdosta State Blazers on Tuesday afternoon at Billy Grant Field.

How it Happened
  • Valdosta State took an early lead in the 1st inning when DJ Banks hit an RBI double to bring in Pedro Moreno, making it 1-0.
  • A 6-run second inning for Valdosta State broke the game open extending the lead to 7-0.
  • In the 5th inning, Valdosta State added four more runs to push the score to 11-0.
  • Nova Southeastern responded in the 6th inning with four runs, highlighted by a two-run double from Justin Wachs, cutting the deficit to 11-4.
  • Boris Pena hit a solo home run in the 7th inning to give Nova Southeastern another spark, making it 11-5.
  • In the bottom of the 7th Valdosta State scored six runs stretching the lead to 17-6.
  • The Sharks added two more runs in the final innings, including an RBI double from Michael Arnold in the 9th making the final score 17-8.
