SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team began Sunshine State Conference play and completed a three-game sweep against the Eckerd Tritons. The Sharks took both games of the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, taking game one 11-9 to win the series and winning the finale 11-10.

- Xavier Moronta got the Sharks on the scoreboard first, driving in Justin Wachs with his third RBI hit of the series, giving NSU a 1-0 lead in the top of the third.
- Kyler Heyne (2-0) pitched five scoreless innings and limited the Tritons to just two base-runners.
- In the top of the sixth inning, Ty Torti brought in Boris Pena on a sacrifice fly and pushed the Sharks lead to 2-0.
- Nova Southeastern plated six runs in the top of the seventh inning, as Roylan Quevedo, Jorge DeGoti, Torti and Anthony Stinson all drove in runs, as NSU extended the lead to 8-0.
- DeGoti hit a three-run home run in the top of the eighth inning, giving NSU an 11-0 lead.
- The Tritons responded with nine runs across the final two innings, but were unable to tie the game, as NSU claimed the Sunshine State Conference series victory by defeating Eckerd 11-9.

- Gabriel Esquivel gave NSU an early 2-0 lead, driving in Justin Wachs and Quevedo with a two-run double.
- NSU broke the game open in the top of the third inning scoring six runs and taking an 8-0 lead.
- During the inning, Quevedo hit a two-run home and Stinson added an RBI double.
- Eckerd responded with four runs in the bottom half of the frame, cutting their deficit to 8-4.
- In the top of the fourth, Moronta scored on an error by the Tritons, extending the NSU lead to 9-4.
- Later in the game, Joel Cabrera and Pena both scored on wild pitches, putting the Sharks in front 11-6.
- Eckerd scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Sharks prevailed and sealed the SSC series sweep with an 11-10 win.
