10 consecutive Pro Bowls, 9 time All Pro. OROY, there are so many accolades to out on Barry Sanders, the list is almost endless. He was also a part of the only playoff win the Lions had in the Super Bowl Era with the thrashing of the Cowboys in January 1991. 6-31 played at the Pontiac Silverdome.
He has always been around the team after his retirement. So much, he teamed up with Chris Spielman and 2 former GMs to put together Dan Campbell as Head Coach, and Brad Holmes as GM.
The verdict is still out if these are the guys to make the Lions relevant again. But signs are pointing that way.
Barry never played for another team, breaking the hearts of Lions fans when he retired. But he has always been there. Legend nights, fan signings, and meet and greets with fans.
Almost every Lions fan will have a soft spot in his heart for Barry Sanders. And rightfully so. He was one the greatest to ever Don the Honolulu Blue and Silver.
