Anderson, Scargle, and Horrocks Earn AAC Weekly Honors

TAMPA (September 11, 2023) – South Florida men’s soccer standouts Jalen Anderson (Offensive Player of the Week), Nicolas Scargle (Defensive Player of the Week), and Alan Horrocks (Honor Roll) each earned American Athletic Conference (AAC) weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 10. The trio helped the Bulls upset No. 15 Indiana, 1-0, last Friday.

Anderson stole the show last week, as the graduate striker scored the lone goal to knock off the nationally ranked Hoosiers last Friday night. The goal was USF’s and Anderson’s first of the season. The Hamden, Conn. native now has 13 career goals.

Scargle led South Florida’s stout defense on the backline against the visiting Hoosiers, helping to limit Indiana to just 10 shots throughout the match. The junior defender was just one of four performers to log a full 90 minutes in the match.

In between the posts, Horrocks logged the first shutout victory of his career. The sophomore goalkeeper collard three saves in the match, the second most saves Horrocks has seen in a game this season.
