PIRATES REMAIN UNBEATEN
East Carolina is off to a hot start in 2025, starting the season with a 6-0 start. All matches have been on the road, with their first home match not coming until September 16 against Wake Forest. The Pirates will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia this weekend to take on William & Mary and Liberty.
TULSA, SOUTH FLORIDA WIN BIG
Tulsa and South Florida both came away with impressive wins last weekend, defeating teams receiving votes in the AVCA national poll. The Golden Hurricane defeated (RV) Oklahoma in four sets in Fayetteville, Arkansas before taking down host Arkansas the following day in four sets. The Bulls defeated (RV) Florida State in five sets in Tampa, while also defeating South Carolina in four sets.
DOMINANT WEEKEND
American teams put on an impressive display last weekend, going a combined 30-7, which included multiple wins over teams receiving votes in the AVCA national poll. Charlotte, UAB, Tulsa, Tulane and East Carolina all went undefeated on the weekend.
RANKED OPPONENTS ON THE SCHEDULE
South Florida and Rice will both play a tough weekend schedule. The Bulls begin the weekend with a match at No. 13 Minnesota at 7 p.m. ET before ending the weekend on Sunday with a match against (RV) Dayton at 12 p.m. ET. The Owls will take on No. 18 Creighton on the road on Friday at 7 p.m. ET before ending the weekend against No. 4 Louisville on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
