American Conference Announces Volleyball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, August 31

Offensive Player of the Week

Amanda Hardt, Jr., OH/RS, Memphis

Hardt led the Tigers to a 3-0 opening weekend, averaging 4.36 kills per set, while adding eight service aces. She was named the Roane Invitational MVP.  Against USC Upstate, Hardt recorded a career-high 26 kills, marking the first 20+ kill performance by a Tiger since 2019.

Defensive Player of the Week

Gabi Maas, R-Jr., L, Wichita State

Maas averaged 4.88 digs per set for the Shockers on opening weekend. She had a career-high 28 digs in a five-set win over Arkansas and a perfect reception percentage.

Setter of the Week

Maddy Bach, Fr., S, Memphis

Bach helped guide the Tigers to a perfect opening weekend, dishing out 96 total assists in three matches (9.6 assists per set). She recorded 30 or more assists in all three matches, while being named to the Roane All-Tournament Team.

Freshman of the Week

Zaniah Hoskins, Fr., OH, Memphis

Hoskins began her career with a 15-kill, 12-dig double-double in a 3-2 win over USC Upstate.  She finished the weekend averaged 2.64 kills per set and 2.91 digs per set.

Honorable Mention

Maddie Stuesser, So., S, Charlotte

Stuesser averaged 9.82 assists per set, including a career-high 52 assists against Winthrop.

Ellie Pate, Jr., OH, East Carolina

Pate averaged 5.00 points per set, recording 33 kills and 11 service aces across a 3-0 weekend for the Pirates.

Isabelle Northam, Jr., L/DS, Florida Atlantic

Northam anchored the back row for the Owls, finishing with 5.44 digs per set, while also dishing out eight assists.

Janyah Henderson, Jr., MB, Memphis

Henderson recorded 26 kills and 17 blocks for the Tigers across three wins.

Raegan Bedell, So., OH, North Texas

Bedell earned the Lion Invitational MVP, averaging 3.73 kills per set as she helped guide the Mean Green to a 3-0 opening weekend.
