IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross country awards for the week ending Sunday, August 31.
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Bernard Cheruiyot, So., Tulane
Cheruiyot finished in first place at the Battle of New Orleans to begin the 2025 cross country season. His winning time in the 5k of 14:08.5 was nearly 20 seconds faster than second place and helped guide the Green Wave to a first place team finish.
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Dorcas Naibei, So., Tulane
Naibei finished in first place in the 4k race with a time of 13:31.12 at the Battle of New Orleans. Her winning time also helped lead Tulane to a first place team finish.
