BULLS WIN STREAK INCREASES TO NINE

South Florida has increased their winning streak to eight games following their win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday. South Florida has won 15 of their past 17 games. The Bulls haven’t lost since Jan. 14 when UAB beat South Florida on a buzzer beater. Since that game, the Bulls have moved into second place in the conference and have handed current first place UTSA their only loss of the season

DOUBLE-BYES CLINCHED

Two teams have clinched double-byes in the upcoming American Women’s Basketball Championship to be held March 8-12 in Fort Worth, Texas.  At 14-1 in The American, UTSA was the first to clinch, while South Florida clinched on Saturday in their 80-70 win over Memphis, improving to 13-2 in The American. North Texas has also clinched a double-bye after their double-overtime win against East Carolina on Saturday.

MEAN GREEN DOUBLE OVERTIME THRILLER

North Texas used a furious comeback to defeat East Carolina 75-73 in double-overtime on Saturday. Tommisha Lampkin scored 11 of the Mean Green’s 17 4th quarter points to force the first overtime period. For the game, Lampkin scored 23 points and tallied 15 rebounds – the third straight 20+ point, 15 rebound game.

IN THE HOME STRETCH

Just two weeks remain in the regular season as teams compete for spots in The American Athletic Conference Basketball Championship to be held March 8-12 in Fort Worth, Texas.  Every seed is up for grabs as just four games remain in the season.

AMERICAN IN THE NET

Two teams rank in the top 100 of the NCAA NET rankings. South Florida leads the way at 66, while UTSA is just behind at 73.
