FLORIDA ATLANTIC IN THE POLLS

The Florida Atlantic Owls continue to be ranked as we head into another week of action. They top the charts at 22 in the NFCA/GoRout Coaches Poll, while being ranked 24 in the D1Softball poll.  They are also receiving votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.

Through two conference series, Florida Atlantic is 6-0. Dating back to last season, the Owls have won 11 straight regular season conference contests. This year, Florida Atlantic has won 13 of their previous 15 games and are currently riding a nine-game winning streak.

BULLS WINNING STREAK INCREASED TO NINE

With a pair of wins over Stetson in a midweek double-header on Wednesday, South Florida has increased their winning streak to nine games.  Their lone loss over the past ten games was in the conference opener against UAB. Currently sitting in second place, the Bulls will return to Tampa to host third-place East Carolina in conference action.

PRATER’S IMPACT

First year Memphis head coach Trena Prater has shown marked improvement in the Tigers this season. With 14 wins on the season already, she has tied the win total from the previous two years combined. Through two conference series, the Tigers have three wins – one more than the previous two seasons combined. Prater will take her Tigers on the road this weekend, traveling to Denton to take on North Texas.

LATEST RPI RANKINGS

Five American Athletic Conference teams rank in the top 53 in the latest NCAA RPI Rankings.  Florida Atlantic sits atop the conference at 32, while South Florida is at 42.  Charlotte comes in at 50, followed by North Texas (52) and Wichita State (53).
