- Army has won its last six games, dating to last season, giving the Black Knights the nation’s second-longest active winning streak (tied with Ole Miss). Memphis’ five-game winning streak ranks fourth nationally. The longest streak belongs to Missouri, which has won seven in a row.
- Two of South Florida’s first four games this season are against teams ranked in the top eight of this week’s Associated Press poll (No. 4 Alabama, No. 8 Miami).
- American Athletic Conference teams play a combined nine nonconference games against teams ranked in this week’s 25 polls this season, including games against teams ranked No. 1, No. 4 and No. 8.
- Army and Navy, which had never competed in the same conference in football until this season, sit tied atop the American Athletic Conference standings after each team won its respective conference opener.
- Rice leads the nation with 14 sacks through three games.
- Memphis has scored at least 20 points in 30 consecutive games, marking the longest active streak among FBS teams
- Memphis QB Seth Henigan has thrown at least one touchdown pass in all 40 games of his career, a streak which ranks third in NCAA history. If Henigan throws a touchdown pass against Navy Saturday, he would tie former Oregon QB Marcus Mariota for the second-longest streak.
- South Florida QB Byrum Brown was one of two FBS players to finish with at least 3,000 passing yards and 800 rushing yards in 2023. The other was Heisman Trophy-winner Jayden Daniels of LSU.
- Charlotte QB Trexler Ivey came off the bench last week with 12:59 left in the fourth quarter and with the 49ers trailing Gardner-Webb 20-6, but engineered three consecutive touchdown drives in a 27-26 come-from-behind win. Ivey went 11-of-12 for 142 yards and two touchdowns.
- Navy has won 70 consecutive home games when leading after the third quarter. The Midshipmen’s last home loss when leading after 45 minutes was in 1999.
