American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 23.

Player of the Week

Tommisha Lampkin, Sr., F, North Texas

Lampkin scored 11 of the 17 fourth quarter points to spark a double-overtime comeback win. The senior scored 23 points and tallied 15 rebounds, her third straight 20+ point, 15 rebound performance.

Freshman of the Week

Kendall Sneed, Fr., G, Tulane

Sneed stuffed the stat sheet, averaging 8 points, 4.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in two games for the Green Wave. She was also a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe on the week.

Honorable Mention

Amiya Joyner, Jr., F, East Carolina

Joyner scored 19 points and tallied 20 rebounds against North Texas. The 20 rebounds is tied for the 19th most in a game in the NCAA this season.

Sammie Puisis, Gr., G, South Florida

Puisis guided the Bulls to a pair of wins, including a win over Memphis where she scored a career-high 34 points.

Tarriyonna Gary, Gr., G, Temple

Gary led the Owls to a win over Wichita State, scoring 25 points, including hitting a career-high seven three pointers.

Jordyn Jenkins, R-Sr., UTSA

Jenkins led the Roadrunners to a road win over Rice, scoring 25 points, while grabbing four rebounds.

Delanie Crawford, Sr., G, Tulsa

Crawford led the Golden Hurricane to a pair of wins, averaging 17 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals for the week.
