American Athletic Conference Announces Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly outdoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, April 28.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Shevioe Reid, Sr., South Florida

In the competitive field at the Penn Relays, Reid led South Florida to wins in the 4×100 (39.34) and the 4×200 (1:22.08), while also running in the 4×400 (3:02.43).  The Bulls hold the top times in The American in the 4×100 and 4×400 this season.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Jemuel Miller, Jr., UTSA

Miller set a program record for the Roadrunners in the triple jump, leaping 16.21 meters.  His jump ranks 7th in the NCAA this season.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Joyasia Smith, So., Charlotte

Smith continues to move up the rankings in the 200-meter dash, improving to 17th in the nation after running a 22.90 second race at the Charlotte Invitational.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Ida Breigan, Fr., UTSA

Breigan leaped a distance of 6.65 meters in long jump at the Texas Invitational for a podium finish. Breigan holds the top jump in The American this season.
