IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the matches of the week ending Sunday, October 15.
Offensive Player of the Week
Niv Berkovitz, Fr., F, SMU
Berkovitz helped led the 6th ranked Mustangs to a 3-0 win over Florida Atlantic. The freshman forward scored the first two goals for SMU.
Defensive Player of the Week
Rocco Haeufgloeckner, So., D, Temple
Haeufgloeckner gave the Owls their first win over a Top 10 team since 2021, scoring the game-winning goal in the 86th minute against defending national champions and No. 10 Syracuse.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Cole Johnson, Sr., SMU
Johson recorded his league-leading sixth clean sheet of the season in the 3-0 win over Florida Atlantic.
Rookie of the Week
Natsuki Ogata, Fr., F, Charlotte
Ogata helped lead the 49ers to a win over Tulsa, scoring the opening goal of the match in the first 76 seconds of the match.
