IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the matches of the week ending Sunday, October 8.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jelldrik Dallmann, Gr., F, SMU
Dallmann scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Charlotte to begin the week before ending the week, scoring a goal and assisting on another in a 2-2 tie against No. 25 FIU.
Defensive Player of the Week
Edgar Aguilar, Jr., D, FIU
Aguilar anchored a backline that allowed just four combined shots on goal in matches against UAB and No. 4/5 SMU. He also scored a goal against the Mustangs.
Goalkeeper of the Week
JD Gunn, Gr., Memphis
Gunn finished with 10 saves on the week to lead the Tigers to a pair of wins. He had three saves in a 1-0 win over #9 Missouri State and added seven more in a win over Tulsa.
Rookie of the Week
Giorgos Kondylis, Fr., MF, Memphis
Kondylis led the Tigers to a top 10 win, scoring the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over No. 9 Missouri State.
Weekly Honor Roll
Daniel Moore, Jr., D, Charlotte
Moore scored the game-winning goal with 16 seconds left in the match in the 49ers win over South Florida.
Victor Claudel, Gr., F, Florida Atlantic
Claudel scored one goal and assisted another in a 2-0 win over UAB.
Diego Castillo, Jr., MF, FIU
Castillo assisted on both goals in the Panther’s 2-2 tie against No. 4/5 SMU.
Elie Bokota, Fr., F, Memphis
Bokota assisted on both goals in the Tigers 2-1 win over Tulsa.
