American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the matches of the week ending Sunday, October 1.

Offensive Player of the Week

Noah Kvifte, Jr., F, Florida Atlantic

Kvifte helped Florida Atlantic earn their first conference win of the season, scoring the game-winning goal against Memphis in the 85th minute.

Defensive Player of the Week

Chad Mayati, So., D, Florida Atlantic

Mayati anchored the backline for the Owls, helping shutout Memphis while not allowing a single shot on goal in the 1-0 win over the Tigers.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Tyler Hogan, Gr., FIU

Hogan helped keep the Panthers undefeated in American Athletic Conference play, earning the win in the goal against South Florida.

Rookie of the Week

Juan Zepeda, Fr., F, Temple

Zepeda scored his first career goal in the 51st minute in Temple’s match against Charlotte.

Weekly Honor Roll

Matthew Kirk, Sr., M, Charlotte

Kirk finished with a pair of assists in the 49ers 3-1 win over Temple.

Daniel Moore, Jr., D, Charlotte
