American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the week ending Sunday, September 22.

Offensive Player of the Week

Lleyton Imparato, Jr., M, Memphis

Imparato scored and assisted on goals in the 2-1 win over Tulsa to help the Tigers open conference play with a victory.

Defensive Player of the Week

Logan Longo, Gr., D, Memphis

Longo recorded his third goal of the season, which ended up being the game-winning goal as the Tigers defeated Tulsa 2-1 to open conference play.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Felix Schaefer, Gr., South Florida

Schaefer recorded a clean sheet in the conference opener against FIU, recording two saves as the Bulls beat the Panthers 1-0.

Freshman of the Week

Ole Jessen, D, UAB

Jessen scored his first collegiate goal as UAB defeated Florida Atlantic 3-2 in the conference opener.


Honorable Mention

Mathias Love Groth, Jr., M, UAB

Love Groth recorded his first collegiate goal in the 85th minute to lift the Blazers past Florida Atlantic 3-2.

Jonathan Munteanu, So., GK, UAB

Munteanu made five saves in the Blazers win over Florida Atlantic.

Aboubacar Traore, Jr., F, Florida Atlantic

Traore assisted and scored a goal in the Owls’ conference opener against UAB.

Pedro Faife, So., M, South Florida

Faife scored the game-winning goal against FIU to help lead the Bulls to a conference opening win.
