American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the 12th week of the regular season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PJ Haggerty, R-So., G, Memphis

Haggerty helped lead the Tigers to a 2-0 week and 6-1 in conference standings, averaging 22.5 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. The redshirt sophomore posted 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals against Wichita State on Thursday before dropping 23 points, nine assists and six rebounds as Memphis took down UAB on Sunday.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Kam Williams, G/F, Tulane

Williams recorded 11 points, six rebounds and three blocks as the Green Wave defeated Rice on Saturday.

HONORABLE MENTION

Giancarlo Rosado, Gr., F, Charlotte

Rosado nearly recorded a triple-double with nine points, 11 rebounds and nine assists as the 49ers defeated South Florida.

Jordan Riley, Sr., G, East Carolina

Riley averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two wins this week, including 27 points in a win over Tulsa.

Brenen Lorient, Jr., F, North Texas

Lorient aided the Mean Green to a 2-0 week by averaging 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.

Gregg Glenn III, Jr., F, Tulane

Glenn posted 17 points, six rebounds and three assists as the Green Wave defeated Rice.

Dwon Odom, Gr., G, Tulsa

Odom almost averaged a triple-double with 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists as the Golden Hurricane went 1-1 on the week.
