| 11/5/2024 | Women’s Volleyball BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic Athletics has named its Prestige Windows & Doors Student-Athletes for October, with Enrique Toro of the men’s cross country team and Katelynn Robine of volleyball receiving the monthly honors. Toro, a sophomore from Puerto Rico, is in his second season with Florida Atlantic cross country and recently wrapped up the American Athletic Conference Championship. Early in the season, he set a new personal best in the 5K with a time of 16:54.8. “Enrique demonstrates enthusiastic dedication not only in the classroom, but equally in other areas, including campus and civic engagement and the overall the student-athlete experience,” said Assistant AD of the Student Athlete Success Center Jackie Perez. “His passion and enthusiasm shines daily, serving as a representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), attending every Red-Blue Game, participating in every social media campaign this year, and being active in community service. Earlier this year, he also represented Florida Atlantic at the American Athletic Symposium, where he served on a panel. His dedication to helping others also shows up in the FAU community, where he spoke at the freshman convocation, inspiring others during their time at FAU and participate in civic engagement.”  The senior Robine has excelled both on the court and in the classroom. She has recorded a team-leading 263 kills, averaging 3.06 kills-per-set and is the Owls’ top scorer on the season with 294.5 points as the team looks to qualify for the AAC Tournament.  Student-Athlete Services Coordinator and Athletic Academic Advisor Robby Nassif cited her as a high achiever in the classroom and an excellent example of what it means to be a student-athlete.
