The Players League Expands to Four New States: Tennessee, Texas, Florida, and Virginia

NORTH CAROLINA – The Players League is excited to announce its expansion into four new states: Tennessee, Texas, Florida, and Virginia. This marks a significant milestone for the league as it continues to grow its national presence.

Each of the new states will bring new opportunities for fan engagement and local talent and connect the world of baseball with communities across the southeast.  The Players League administration is selecting four ownership groups in each new expansion market to become the foundation of the inaugural season.

The Volunteer State League is the new name of the Tennessee expansion. Tennessee has a deep-rooted passion for sports, Tennessee is set to be a key state for the league as it offers a platform to expand across the southeast.  The Volunteer State League will begin set up camp within a 2-hour radius of the Nashville area, with plans to expand across the state as it grows.

The Cowboy Collegiate League set in Texas, will be the furthest West the TPL has traveled yet. Texas is one of the largest states in the U.S., Texas has incredible potential for finding athletic talent and a massive fan base.

The Orange State League will bring the TPL structure to the Sunshine State. Florida for its rich sports history, specifically baseball, will play a major role in league growth and carry its tradition into a new league.  The Orange State League will break ground in Southern Florida with plans to expand across the entire state in the coming years.

The Old Dominion State League will start a new venture just above the TPL’s roots in the Old North State League. Virginia will help the league establish a stronger presence along the East Coast.

Alec Allred, The Players League’s chief executive officer, said when asked about the current expansion:

“We are thrilled to announce TPL’s expansion into Tennessee, Texas, Florida, and  Virginia. Our shared goals include creating a player-centric structure based on players’  preferences, such as shorter seasons and reduced travel between teams; revitalizing baseball in local communities to provide young kids with hometown heroes to admire; offering family-friendly entertainment; contributing to local economies; and providing team owners with a sustainable business model that increases profitability. Before the 2025 season, four ownership groups will be selected in each state to be part of the foundation of the league for years to come.  We are excited to build this future with them!”
