South Florida Bulls Men’s Soccer Fall To Clemson In Hard Fought Battle

TAMPA (September 12, 2023) – South Florida men’s soccer (1-4) fell to Clemson (3-2-1), 3-2, at Corbett Stadium on Tuesday night.

Senior midfielder Ajmeer Spengler put the Bulls in front in the 12th minute of action, with an assist from senior center back Luca Hollenstein. The second half of action saw four goals. Clemson’s offense found the net twice before junior midfielder Shion Soga netted the equalizer to make it 2-2 in the 79th minute of play.

Clemson ultimately took the win by scoring its third goal of the night in the 81st minute.

COACH BUTEHORN SAID

“It’s a disappointing loss,” said head coach Bob Butehorn. “I give credit to Clemson, they played well and battled. We didn’t play to our level in the second half, but in the first half we had a lot of better chances.”
