The Taravella baseball team defeated Naples 2-1 in a hard fought home game. E.J. Burns was the winning pitcher and pitched for more than six innings. Ryan Meekins was the closing pitcher.
Coach Joe Giummule was very pleased with the team’s effort and said, “For us to continue winning we need to play good baseball and we need to coach well.”
E.J. Burns said, “We need to win and I left everything on the field today.”
The Trojans recently defeated Cypress Bay 9-8 and they are preparing for a very competitive district tournament. The team has a 17-4-1 record and is considered one the best high school baseball teams in Florida.
