The Florida freshmen picked-up a doubles and singles victory to open the tournament on Friday.
ATHENS, Ga. – Freshmen Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee opened the Georgia Invitational with a doubles victory while Spee also notched a singles victory to get competition started on Friday in Athens.
Dudeney and Spee opened the tournament with a victory on the doubles side of the field, defeating Central Florida’s Evgeniya Levashova and Valeriya Zeleva, 8-5, before falling to Georgia’s Guillermina Grant and Mell Reasco, 8-6.
On the singles side of the competition, Spee earned a clean sweep in her opening round, defeating Central Florida’s Nandini Sharma, 6-3, 6-4.
Competition at Georgia is slated to begin on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. ET with round three of doubles competition.
