2023 American Football Schedule Announced

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University’s 2023 American Athletic Conference football schedule was announced by the AAC on Tuesday morning.

The 2023 season promises to be one to remember with a NEW CONFERENCE. NEW COACH. NEW ERA.

The full AAC slate includes home contests versus Tulsa, UTSA, ECU and Tulane. The away schedule features trips to USF, Charlotte, UAB and Rice.

The Owls will take the field for the first time under the direction of Hagerty Family head football coach Tom Herman, a proven winner, on Saturday, Sept. 2 versus Monmouth. It will be the first meeting between the two schools as will the Saturday, Sept. 23 contest at Illinois. The Illini matchup will be the second versus a high profile school, the first will come one week earlier at Clemson on Saturday, Sept. 16. While those programs found themselves in the nation’s top-25 over the course of the 2022 season and Clemson has been in the National Championship picture four of the last eight seasons, both UTSA and Tulane were among the top-25 talk in recent years as well.

TOM’S TAKE

“I’m excited to not only see our full schedule laid out before us, but also to have the opportunity to guide this program through the conference change,” said Herman. “I believe we are fortunate in the fact that we can get two games under our belts before we head off to play two Power 5 schools in back-to-back weeks. The break before we start the conference season also comes at an opportune time. It’s a schedule that will challenge our team and is certain to be exciting for our fans.”
