The Gators will travel to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles on Friday, Nov. 25.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Florida State announced Monday their 2022 football schedule. The Gators-Seminole matchup is set for the evening of Friday, Nov. 25 on primetime television at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.
The television rights to FSU home games are governed by ACC media agreements. The 2023 matchup in Gainesville, controlled by SEC television contracts, will return to the Saturday following Thanksgiving.
The last regular season matchup featuring the Gators not on a Saturday was at Mississippi State on Thursday, Oct. 1, 1992.
The date will also be the first regular-season Friday evening game for the Gators since 1961 when they defeated Tulane 14-3 in New Orleans.
The game will mark the 66th meeting between the two teams in the in-state rivalry that dates back to 1958. Florida leads the series 37-26-2, having defeated the Seminoles 24-21 inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium last year.
New Head Coach Billy Napier’s debut season begins Sept. 3 at home against defending PAC-12 champion Utah.
